NSU Alumna appointed to the Prince George’s County Maryland Memorial Library System Board of Truste

NSU Alumna Wanda Arrington '89 was recently appointed to the Prince George's County Memorial Library System Board of Trustees. The Prince George's County Memorial Library System consists of 19 libraries and FY 2012 budget of $25 million. The mission of the Prince George's County Memorial Library is to promote and make available library resources that will fill the lifelong learning needs of individuals and groups in Prince George's County. The Board of Trustees determine the policy of the Prince George's County Memorial Library System, including types of services, personnel, regulations, budgetary controls and all phases of library operations.

In addition to being a member of the PGCMLS Trustee Board Arrington's professional role is an Audit Manager at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) with 23 years of experience, and a Certified Government Financial Manager. She is responsible for managing and overseeing EPA's financial statement and financial-related audits. Over her career, she has also planned and conducted contract administration, systems development, and performance audits.

Arrington lives in Upper Marlboro and has been a resident of Prince George's County for 42 years, graduating from Eleanor Roosevelt High School. She is a graduate of Norfolk State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting and she has a Graduate Certificate from Johns Hopkins University's Leadership Development Program for Minority Managers. She is currently in the Class of 2013 for Leadership Prince George's, Inc.
